The Expert 3 symbolized the transition of RC radios from vinyl-clad, US-made to plastic, foreign built. A declining number of old style radios would continue to be made, even by World Engines (see Expert 9 and 10). But the future belonged to the new style and to new, non-US manufacturers. What better symbol of this evolution than a transmitter which was a mix of plastic and aluminum, and also of US and foreign manufacture.
